What is the LMS?

The Learning Management System (LMS) is an automated system that streamlines the training registration process, allows access to training, helps administrators manage training, enables reporting on training initiatives, and issues certificates.

Why should I use the LMS?

The LMS offers a consolidated training platform that benefits employee career development. Employees can use the LMS to find and register for training, track their training, and manage their career training goals.

How do I access LMS?

Open the LMS website in your browser. The preferred web browser for accessing the LMS is Google Chrome.

How do I log on to the LMS?

For detailed instructions, please refer to your employee Welcome email.

How do I change my LMS password?

To change your LMS password, please click on your name in the upper right-hand corner of the Moodle site. From there you can click on Profile in the upper right-hand corner. Once you have clicked on your Profile, please refer to the Actions Menu icon gear on the right-hand corner of your screen. Using the action menu, scroll down and click Change Password. Once you have chosen your new password, press Save Changes. Your password will now be updated.

How do I search and register for a course?

Once you have been approved for enrollment, you will be registered for all required modules as part of the DPPC onboarding process.

Is there a time limit for activity in the LMS system?

There is no allocated time limit for activity in the LMS system. Once logged in, you will be permanently signed into your account until you manually log-off the system.

Is there free training and other free resources in the LMS?

The LMS has a section dedicated to resources. Underneath resources there are two sections: National Resources and Massachusetts Resources, which provide information about national and statewide initiatives.

With which web browser should I view the LMS?

Google Chrome is the best web browser to use when accessing the LMS.

Why didn't I receive an email notification regarding my enrollment request?

How do I know if I have an LMS account?

If an email address is listed within the LMS, then you should have a valid LMS account.

How do I print a certificate of completion?

Certificates of Completion only become available to the user once the course is completed. You can access your Certificate of Completion by clicking on the Get Certificate button. Certificates of Completion will be presented in PDF form. From there, you will be able to print out the PDF directly and/or save it to your computer.

Why doesn't my transcript include all the training I have taken at the DPPC?

Some required trainings are offered through different LMS systems. Therefore, not all transcripts will be available on the LMS. For example, Mass Achieve and NATC training transcripts are not available on this site.

How long will a registration be allowed to sit in the supervisor's queue without being approved?

Once a request for enrollment has been sent, the request will remain in Learning & Development's queue until approved. If a request was sent but you are still not enrolled within the LMS, please contact Diane DeMelo, Learning & Development Manager at diane.demelo@mass.gov for support.

Are reminders sent to notify the approver that a registration is awaiting their approval?

Time limits are not built into the system. There are no further reminders other than the initial notification that is sent.

When do I need to take these trainings?

Please consult your immediate supervisor for timelines.
