Welcome to DPPC's online learning portal for Adult Protective Services.
This site hosts professional development resources offered for Adult Protective Services staff and allied professionals.
The Massachusetts Building Partnerships for the Protection of Persons with Disabilities Initiative (BPI) and the Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC) are proud to share the incredible work of the DPPC's Sexual Assault Response (SAR) Team. The Start by Believing video highlights Patty and Leigh Ann, two sexual assault victims with a disability, their paths to healing and becoming peer support leaders, and the work of the Sexual Assault Response (SAR) Team at DPPC. DPPC is the first Adult Protective Service (APS) agency in the country to create a unit that is solely focused on addressing the trauma needs of sexual assault victims with a disability.

The Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC) in partnership with the Massachusetts Building Partnerships for the Protection of Persons with Disabilities Initiative (BPI), through funding from the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC), created a training curriculum and accompanying video to educate people with disabilities and others on recognizing, reporting and responding to abuse. Statewide training teams from Massachusetts Advocates Standing Strong (MASS), comprised of trainers with and without disabilities, teach the curriculum content. The Awareness and Action training video illustrates common types of abuse, and details how to effectively recognize and respond to abuse.
